ROSS JONES-A DISTINGUISHED ALUM

Ross Jones is a native of Haddonfield, N.J. and attended Johns Hopkins University. He was active in the News-Letter as co-editor, the band, the Boosters Club, Delta Upsilon fraternity (president), Omicron Delta Kappa leadership fraternity, and he was public address announcer for football and lacrosse games at Homewood Field. He graduated in 1953.

Upon graduation, he joined the Army, serving until 1956. After being discharged, he became a journalist in Pennsylvania. He then received his Master's degree in communications from Columbia University. After working for three years at the Associated Press, he returned to Columbia to work in public affairs.

In 1961, he returned to Johns Hopkins University where he was assistant to then President Milton S. Eisenhower. In 1986, he traveled to Japan to introduce lacrosse to students there. A building in the Mattin Student Arts Center on the Johns Hopkins campus is named in his honor.
